Arranger For Hire performs Orchestration Services.
What are Music Orchestration Services?
Music orchestration involves the creation of music notation scores and parts for performance by live musicians, and/or the creation of musical tracks to enhance an underlying mix.
An orchestrator adds instrumentation and sonic color to existing material, whether it’s an arranged musical sketch or a pre-existing track of music, or an unfinished music arrangement.
Orchestration is less expensive than arranging, if the source material is available in a usable form. Orchestration does not usually involve the creation of new countermelodies and melodic material, instead consisting of the addition of instruments for sonic coloration.
Orchestration can involve the addition of additional musical elements to the score; if that’s what’s needed, we determine it in advance with the customer and bill at arranging rates.
Types of Orchestration
Adding instruments to an existing arrangement
We can add instrumentation and sounds to an existing music notation file, or existing audio track.
Completing an arrangement from an arranger’s sketch
An arranger may have a work tape, or a pencil/paper sketch from a rehearsal session they need notated and fleshed out for a particular instrumentation. This also is orchestration.
Given the variables involved in an orchestration project, we need to see the materials and assess the work, and will give a quote based on our estimate of the scope of the work.
